XO Communications to Host Event with Cisco and the Software Association of Oregon

Executive panel will address how innovative IT strategies can help reduce expenses and drive revenue in this uncertain economy.

PORTLAND, OR – June 16, 2010 – XO Communications announced today that it is hosting a unique executive breakfast event with partner, Cisco Systems, and Oregon’s premier technology association, the Software Association of Oregon, at the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland Oregon at 7:30 A.M.

The event will feature a panel discussion with award-winning Rob Geller, XO’s Chief Information Officer, and Sidney Morgan, Cisco System’s senior manager of Cisco IT’s Customer Strategy and Success group focusing on Data Center, Virtualization and Cloud Services. The discussion will be hosted by the Software Association of Oregon’s President, Matt Nees.

The discussion will focus on the economy and how industry leaders are safeguarding their companies by driving down expenses and actually increasing revenues through IT strategies and programs. Topics such as: IT trends, managed and hosted IT solutions, telecommunications, cloud computing, Google apps, hardware strategies will be openly discussed.

Robert Geller is XO Communications' Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for overseeing all the company's IT operations. Additionally, he has overseen the development of several architecture plans, including those that directly impact the ability of XO to provide superior service and delivery to customers. Prior to joining XO, Geller served as the Senior Vice President of Information Technology at US West/Qwest where he played a pivotal role in raising delivery standards and producing key systems for long distance, DSL, wireless, and e-business for all of the company's business units. Prior to US West/Qwest, Geller was the Vice President of Software Development for MCI where he held a variety of senior executive positions.

Sidney Morgan is a senior manager in Cisco IT’s Customer Strategy and Success group focusing on Data Center, Virtualization and Cloud Services. Before joining IT CS&S, Sidney led Cisco IT’s Services Oriented Data Center team, which was responsible for the architecture, design, build, and operation of Cisco next-generation data centers. Sidney has been with Cisco for ten years in a variety of technical and managerial positions. Prior to joining Cisco, Sidney was the Global Datacom Manager for Sybase for six years where he was responsible for Sybase data centers and wide-area networks.
