Sponsor Spotlight: Logic General

Logic General was founded in 1988 by local entrepreneur Ned Hammond. The company originally served corporate clients with software duplication services starting with the 5-inch floppy to the 3.5-inch format and then into CD duplication in the early 1990s. Along the way the company built first-class capabilities in packaging and fulfillment, obtaining its ISO 9001 registration in 1998.

As the CD waned as the software delivery method of choice in the early part of this decade, the company repositioned itself for growth again by pursuing clients in the entertainment and edutainment spaces. Pacific Northwest music labels such as Allegro and value-added musician service providers such as SuperDigital relied on Logic for fully packaged CD-audio manufacturing.

In 2004, the company was purchased in a management lead buyout. Under new ownership, the company made significant investments in DVD manufacturing capabilities, and today is the Northwest’s leading manufacturer (and Oregon’s only manufacturer) of DVD-5 and DVD-9 formats.

The company currently serves software, corporate and entertainment firms with software on DVD (Oracle, Microsoft), product promotion (Nautilus) and entertainment/edutainment (Topics) from its manufacturing, packaging and distribution facility in Wilsonville. Logic will make additional investments over the next few years in the emerging HD DVD format.
